New Jewish tunes CD from violinist-singer, Harris Shilakowsky

Harris Shilakowsky's first cd which is available at CDBaby brings new spirit to Jewish traditional tunes like Havah Nagilah. He sings & plays violin with with hip hop & rock & dance rhythm tracks  interspersed with echoes of ancient Middle Eastern meditations punctuated by the ancient Middle Eastern drums. Hevenu Shalom-uptempo, Hashkiveinu an acoustical piano-violin arrangement of Debbie Friedman's song from the Friday night liturgy, HavahNagilah-uptempo, Tumbalalaika-traditional Jewish love song arranged with Middle Eastern clay drum, Chosen Kale-uptempo Jewish wedding song, HaTikvah-National Anthem of Israel and Jewish people; a song of hope for living in peace, Tumbalalaika Meditation-instrumental version of the tune, Siman Tov-uptempo song of rejoicing frequently used at weddings.
Coming later this month is his new cd of Purim songs for the festive holiday celebrating the victory of the Jews over the evil Haman.
Harris Shilakowsky was a guest leader of the London Symphony & concertmaster and soloist with New Orleans Symphony, Nashville, Grand Rapids, MI and member of the Boston Pops. His quartet, the Shilakowsky String Quartet performs for bar-bat mitzvah and weddings in the Boston and New England area. He is Well-known as director & soloist of the Bristol Chamber Orchestra performing in the greater Sharon area where he teaches the violin.
